Moving Home

If you are moving out of your home:

• You need to give Ealing Homes four weeks' notice, unless you are being transferred by the council via Locata.
• Like many other London boroughs, Ealing has a severe shortage of homes compared with the number of people who want to transfer.  Only a very small number of people who need to move are likely to be assisted by the council.

What if I want to move to another council or Housing Association home?

There are a number of mobility schemes available to you:

• Locata (moving within Harrow, Hillingdon, Ealing, Hounslow and Brent)
• Homeswapper (swapping homes with someone else)
• Out of London scheme
• Transfer Incentive Scheme

To apply fill out Transfer Application Form and return it to your area office.

Other rehousing schemes include:

• Shared Ownership 
• Homebuy
• Homebuyers Grant Scheme
• Shared Ownership HOMES
• Do It Yourself Shared Ownership (DIYSO)
• Transfer Incentive Scheme
