The Home Buyer's Grant scheme has been very popular and has released over 90 qualifying
properties to the council since its beginning. Funding for 2008/2009 has been obtained and if
you are interested in applying contact the Home Ownership Team.
This scheme offers existing Council tenants a grant of up to £30,000 to help purchase a property on the open market.
If you are a tenant and have thought of purchasing a property of your own but have been unable to raise a large enough mortgage, this scheme may be able to help you.
The following conditions apply:
If you are interested in the scheme we would advise you to seek independent financial advice
before proceeding. Owning a home has many financial responsibilities both in terms of maintenance
and upkeep of the property and repayment of the mortgage. Depending on your circumstances, it may
not be in your best interest to purchase a property.
To be included in the waiting list or to discuss the scheme with a team member please call us
on 020 8825 9506.
If you are a secure tenant and are interested in purchasing the property you currently rent
please see the Right to Buy Scheme. If you are not an existing tenant or are interested in other
schemes such as shared ownership, you should contact Ealing Council’s Housing Applications
department for further details.
