Scaffolding
With Decent Homes works progressing from internal kitchens and bathrooms to external works
requiring scaffolding, it is vital that health and safety is a priority for everyone on our
estates.
The improvements taking place could include new windows, doors and roofs, as well as upgrades to
communal areas and better security, but of course these works will involve scaffolding and will be
more noisy and disruptive. You may have already seen scaffolding going up around your estate, with
the Decent Homes signage on it, so read on for more information on keeping safe during the
works...
- Your block will need to be scaffolded in order to carry out external works
- You should advise your insurance company that scaffolding is being erected, although this
should not affect your policy or right to claim should you have a need
- All necessary precautions will be taken to deter unauthorised persons from accessing the
scaffold
- Scaffolding will be removed as soon as possible
- Scaffolding / building sites can be dangerous places so it is important you keep
your children away from work areas both inside and outside your home
- Do not let your children play with the builders’ equipment, tools, rubbish or near
skip bins
- Keep doors and windows closed and locked whenever possible.
Simple precautions will make sure everyone remains safe during the works.
