Following reports that youths and drug users have been using the area to congregate, the
Antisocial Behaviour Team arranged for CCTV pod cameras to be fitted to the external walls of
Hamblin House, effectively covering the entire rear area of the block.
The four high visibility cameras are wirelessly accessible to the police and Antisocial
Behaviour Team, meaning live images can be viewed and downloaded as required. Within days of
the cameras being installed, residents were already reporting a dramatic drop in the antisocial
activity they had been experiencing.
“These highly visible pods make potential troublemakers think twice”, Says ASB Team Manager,
Abdi Osman, “And, should any further incidents of antisocial activity occur, the footage can be
used to identify and take action against those responsible.”
