South Acton community partnership week

South Acton community partnership week

This week saw the launch of the South Acton community partnership week – an initiative aimed at improving the lives of residents on the estate.

Launched on Monday (7 July 2008), in conjunction with the police and Ealing Council, the week will bring together key partners and agencies to address crime and antisocial behaviour, repairs and maintenance issues, environmental issues, tenancy verifications and block inspections.

There will be an Ealing Homes stand on the estate all week for residents to chat to staff about any issues they may have.

Harps Dhaliwal, Ealing Homes ASB Team manager said: “The week will see activities taking place throughout the estate. Blocks will be checked to identify repairs and security issues, there will be community payback to paint communal areas and teams will be on hand to remove graffiti, abandoned vehicles and bulk refuse. We have also provided the police with a drug sniffer dog who will be used to check communal areas identified as drug hotspots.”

The week of action is a national police initiative and aims to address the key issues of concern to residents and ensure that all partners continue working together after the week of action ends.
