Russell Caller
Current Chair of the Board Russell Caller is an independent member. A solicitor of
nearly 25 years and a Partner in his own legal practice, Russell specialises in residential and
commercial property and is an accredited Mediator and published author. For many years Russell has
also carried out voluntary work for Jewish Care, a home charity involved in helping the elderly,
mentally ill and the blind.
Ziggy Brennan
Vice Chair Ziggy Brennan is also an independent member and has considerable
experience in local and central government (including the Housing Corporation). Ziggy also has a
wealth of voluntary experience, which includes the Somali Housing Organisation and Islington
Women's Aid.
Eddie Brown
Eddie Brown has been a leaseholder with Ealing Homes for more than 15 years and has
sat on Ealing Homes’ Board since it’s inception in 2004. Before retiring Eddie worked in sales and
marketing in the Applied Chemicals industry for over 20 years. Now a member of EHILA (Ealing Homes
Independent Leasehold Association) Eddie chaired the Board for three years before appointing
Russell Caller after his final year.
Donncha Downey
Leaseholder Board Member Donncha Downey has owned his Ealing Homes property since
before the ALMO was set up and for the last 14 years has worked for BAA’s Engineering department at
Heathrow airport. This has included involvement with the development and running of the recently
built Terminal 5 and the new satellite building T5C. Outside of work Donncha is a massive rugby fan
having played for local team Old Actonians based close to Acton Town tube station.
Carole Lorrington
Ealing Homes tenant Carole Lorrington was re-appointed to the Board in 2009 and is
Ealing Homes’ third longest standing tenant Board Member. Carole has been working as a Programme
Administrator for Brunel University for the past four years and is a member of the Association of
University Administrators. She also sits on Ealing Homes’ Audit and Regulatory Committee and enjoys
undertaking DIY projects in her spare time.
Deborah Haynes
Resident Board member Deborah Haynes was elected by her peers to be on the Resident
Council and has since progressed to the Ealing Homes Board. Deborah has worked for over two decades
with people with learning disabilities and is presently working for a Theatre Company that works
with adults with learning disabilities. Deborah has a broad knowledge of both disability and health
and safety issues and is the Board’s Health and Safety Champion.
Greg Birdseye
Independent Board member Greg Birdseye has worked for the Audit Commission on
housing related topics and on value for money. He has been a Board member previously for Ealing
Family Housing Association and is also a Board member of Ealing Education Business Partnership.
John Popham
Conservative Councillor John Popham has been a council nominated Board member since
2008 and has represented Cleveland Ward on Ealing Council since 2002. John has two large estates in
his ward, one of which is a High Intervention Estate. A retired IT Project Manager, he is currently
Opposition Chief Whip at Ealing Borough Council.
Abdi Ali
A tenant of Ealing Homes, professionally Abdi Ali has worked as a Somali
interpreter and translator for several housing associations. Outside the workplace he has set up a
Somali support group within the community and also works with groups of residents who want to set
up Resident Associations.
Brian Reeves
Labour Councillor Brian Reeves has been on the Board since 2008 and is also Chair
of Ealing Homes’ Audit and Regulatory Committee. Brian retired from his role as deputy head teacher
after 40 years in the classroom, 30 of which were spent in Ealing’s schools. He also has a keen
interest in statics and maintenance.
Wendy Langan
Wendy Langan is a member of Ealing Homes’ Board through her Councillorship with the
London Borough of Ealing. She has worked within finance for more than 10 years and is now an
experienced Office Manager.
Isobel Grant
Conservative Councillor Isobel Grant is a Chartered Civil Engineer. Having worked
in the construction industry for 12 years, she is currently involved in the Olympic Park Project.
In May 2010 she was elected Councillor for the London Borough of Ealing, representing Cleveland
Ward.
Barry Nethercott
Independent Board member Barry Nethercott is a qualified accountant with more than
25 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors, the last 10 years of which have been
at director level. Barry has also held a number of Board appointments both within and outside the
public sector.
