Vision
Working with residents, the local strategic partnership and our contractors we aim
to improve the quality of life in our neighbourhoods.
There are some 19,000 council homes in Ealing. Our drive for an excellent management
service, delivered by quality staff and driven through resident involvement, supports Ealing
Council’s own priorities for cleaner streets, safer communities and value for money.
Our objective is simple: we want the homes we manage to be places where people want to live and
Ealing Homes a place where people want to work.
Objectives
- Deliver decent homes by 2010
- Maximise income collection and efficiency relating to costs to meet targets
- Tackle antisocial behaviour and manage residents' expectations
- To raise resident satisfactionwith particular attention to antisocial behaviour, caretaking and
leaseholder services
- Improve internal communications and staff satisfaction
- Improve communal cleaning and bring all estates up to a good consistent standard
- Embed equality and diversity across the organisation
- Contribute towards the objectives of the Local Strategic Partnership
- Develop new business to raise revenue to enable Ealing Homes to deliver on its
objectives.

- Introducing swipe cards for paying your rent and other charges
- Revising the tenancy agreement to strengthen the provisions for tackling antisocial
behaviour
- Introducing Internet and credit card payments for service charges
- Online repair reporting with descriptive pictures
- Introducing biannual borough-wide communal window cleaning
- Introducing hand-held computers for surveyors to report repairs on-site
- Increasing use of fixed penalty fines for people who drop litter and fly tip
- Looking at ways to increase the number of garages that are let
- Upgrading our caretaking vehicles to improve the removal of fly tips
- Introducing telephone and internet payments for rent and service charges
- Looking at ways to further improve our antisocial behaviour service
- Increasing supervision within the caretaking service to further improve cleaning
standards.
