In September Ealing Homes underwent a thorough inspection by the Audit Commission.
They looked at every aspect of the service we provide to you and were keen to hear what you
had to say too.
They left no stone unturned: repairs and maintenance, rent collection, service charges,
tenancy support, caretaking, antisocial behaviour, customer service, complaints, Decent Homes and
opportunities for resident involvement. You name it and the Audit Commission cast a critical
eye upon it.
In addition to this the Audit Commission was checking to ensure public money is spent
effectively.
The Audit Commission have planned visits to ALMOs at least every three years. The
process takes a lot of work by staff and those residents who are involved and it is a bit
nerve-racking!
They interviewed our staff, our Board and groups of residents too. They visited your estates
and carried out Mystery Shopping to see what level of service they received when they phoned
us or called into an Area Housing Office.
The Audit Commission will publish a report showing the results from the inspection in late
December.
